Don't fall for all the get rich quick schemes or especially the ridiculous emails promising you a million dollars if you will just accept the money and share it with the person who sent it to you.  Getting rich quick really does happen, but usually only to the people scamming idiots by appealing to their greed.
    It is relatively easy to get wealthy over a long period of time by simply using sound judgment and avoiding all the hype and deceiving gimmicks that are used to keep people from realizing that they are paying a heavy price for a lot of stuff that they don't need and will have a hard time ever paying off their credit cards from a life of financial indiscretion.
    Even though it takes a long time to get wealthy, getting poor is much easier to accomplish quickly.
